ISO 12944 has 6 basic categories for atmospheric corrosion, which we work with at MMT Group, unless the customer requests otherwise.
|Corrosion||Examples of environments|
|Heated buildings with clean air, for instance offices, stores, schools, hotels, etc.|
|Atmosphere with low pollution. Mostly rural surroundings.||Unheated buildings in which condensation may occur. For instance in warehouses and sports halls.|
|Industrial and city areas with average sulphur dioxide pollution. Coastal areas with a low salt content.||Manufacturing buildings with high humidity and some air pollution – for instance food production companies, laundries, breweries, and dairies.|
|Industrial and coastal areas with a moderate salt content.||Chemical companies, indoor swimming pools, shipyards, and boatyards.|
|Industrial areas with high humidity and aggressive atmosphere.||Buildings or areas with almost permanent condensation and high pollution.|

At MMT Group, most of what we paint is painted in RAL or NCS colors. But we also work with customers who have their own colors.
In those cases, we have the color specially toned in collaboration with our paint and lacquer supplier.
